about

"Finding the richly poignant rhythms that Skeletonized perform within their electrified, chaotic cacophony feels refreshingly startling, like finally finding the object of a long and arduous search. The music feels like a sonic eureka moment."
-Captured Howls

"I have lost count how many times the Pittsburgh free jazz/noise band Skeletonized has been on Fuzzy Sun but the only thing I know for sure is that is not enough. Their high energy skronk keeps my body going for yet another day. Their previous releases have been brutal and this new release is no different yet it has something more, there seems to be an extra psychedelic touch to it. Is it more jazzy? Is it less aggresssive? It is beautiful that is for sure. Tune in and listen to ‘Apparition’ by the great Skeletonized."
-Fuzzy Sun

"This is Skeletonized's third album, band I caught in Facebook's Abnormal Music ' group. Great discovery! It's a band that crosses sounds like jazz, rock and noise. Skeletonized specifically is a trio of sax, drummer and guitar, adding samples that are released by drummer and saxophonist. At one point you can talk about progressive as much as no wave, and that contrast is appreciated not only for broad and original spectrum, but also for the release and naturalness in how the band travels it. This disc drifters as a creature of gestures and various forces, like an aimless flight, but always attentive and visceral. There is some optimism in harmonies, crossed by distortion and dissonance, rational and chaotic. It's worth noting how good musicians they are, where I stand out especially the drums (Matt Rappa). Highly recommended for those who are open to wild and innovative sounds."
